The oral surgeon, while he did a very good job, and I'm satisfied, seemed annoyed at being there and was not friendly at all. Maybe he was just having a bad day.

The DDS seemed to be there just to do his job-pull a tooth.

This was my 1st time at the clinic & I can't even recall if the Dr said "Welcome". He just felt very business like and didn't have a very warm/welcoming presence. Not sure I actually want this Dr to perform my procedure or not...He discussed what a wisdom tooth pulling entails & my options but I kind of felt like another patient on the list to check off...

I feel like Dr. Portnoy was lost or confused or non-communicative. Clearly he had many thoughts about my case. He didn't share them with us. This made us unusually worried. I have high confidence that he was looking out for me, but I wouldn't have known it from the time that we were face-to-face, but from his actions afterwards. As a side note, it helps to ask patients about their backgrounds. We are very familiar with MRIs (and I worked with X-rays for a few years) -- we lack human anatomy knowledge and training, and therefore any context to even begin to guess at what things mean, but we are very familiar with the technical aspects of this technique and its limitations. In my view, the role of the doctor is _also_ to help us make sense of what we think we are seeing. Some of the CT explanation came off as condescending. The doctor couldn't have known, but he didn't ask.

After explaining my options which were complicated and unexpected given my 3-months previous appointment with a different Dental Specialist, this doctor essentially put them in my lap and said "Which way do you want to go?" As if I had anticipated these findings! Sorry, not very patient-centered.

Dr Partnoy was helpful in dealing with the difficult talk of explaining to me that another Dr had left a root in and what next steps needed to be.
