Welcome Dr. Sonya Josephs

The Dental Specialists is excited to welcome pediatric dentist, Dr. Sonya Josephs! 

Dr. Josephs is practicing at our Rochester practice. In 1990, Dr. Josephs received her Bachelor of Science degree at Rutgers, The State University in Newark, New Jersey. A few years later, in 1994, Dr. Josephs obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Then in 2001, she received Specialty Training in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Dr. Josephs is a part of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. "I realized that Pediatric Dentistry was my calling after practicing general dentistry for 3 years and was not happy with adult dentistry." Dr. Josephs said. Treating kids brings her so much joy and happiness. They dance, sing, share stories and jokes and it's such an ecstatic moment when they leave the office with huge smiles and are genuinely happy to be at the dentist. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Josephs enjoys traveling the world with her 2 daughters. She also enjoys spending time with her sisters and her "Pink Ladies" high school friends of 44 years.
